How to register Your SIM: Fingerprint & Absher Issues

KSA has strict anti-fraud laws. Every SIM is linked to a fingerprint.

The Process

1. Buy: You present passport/visa.
2. Scan: You place fingers on the scanner.
3. Active: It activates instantly.

Common Problems

• "System Down" at Airport: Often happens.
  • Solution: Don't panic. Go to the city (Makkah/Madinah). Visit a main branch of STC/Mobily. They can register you there.
• Faded Fingerprints: Elderly pilgrims (manual workers) often have worn fingerprints.
  • Solution: The staff can try multiple fingers. If all fail, the supervisor can sometimes override with a photo/passport verification (depends on provider).
• Data Only: Sometimes "Data Only" SIMs have easier registration than "Voice + Data".
