Muzdalifah Night Guide: Collecting Pebbles & Sleeping

After Arafat, pilgrims move to Muzdalifah to spend the night under the open sky.

The Rituals

1. Prayers: Combine Maghrib and Isha (shortened) upon arrival.
2. Collect Pebbles: Pick 49 to 70 chickpea-sized stones for the Jamaraat. Clean them with water if dusty.
3. Sleep: There are no tents. You sleep on the ground (bring a sleeping bag/mat).

Survival Tips

• Bathrooms: Extremely crowded. Try to use facilities in Arafat before leaving.
• Food: Food boxes are usually distributed, but keep snacks (biscuits/dates) with you.
