Masjid Aisha (al-Taneem) is the nearest Meeqat (boundary) for people already inside Makkah. It is approx 7.5 km from the Haram.
Who Needs Dist?
- Residents of Makkah: If they intend to do Umrah.
- Pilgrims wanting a 2nd Umrah: If you finished your first Umrah and want to perform another (e.g., for a deceased relative), you must exit the Haram boundary, go to Taneem, wear Ihram, and return.
Getting There
- Taxi:
- Cost: 30-50 SAR (Round trip often negotiable for ~80 SAR).
- Wait Time: The driver will wait for you to pray 2 Rakaat and wear Ihram.
- Makkah Bus (Route 12):
- Cost: 4 SAR.
- Stop: Direct stop at Masjid Aisha. Very convenient and cheap.
The Procedure
- Go to Masjid Aisha in normal clothes (or take Ihram sheets with you).
- Use the large bathrooms/shower facilities there.
- Wear Ihram Niyyah: "Labbaik Allahumma Umrah".
- Pray 2 Rakaat inside the Masjid.
- Return to Masjid Al-Haram to perform Tawaf and Sa'i.
Key Rules
- You cannot wear Ihram from your hotel in Makkah for a second Umrah. You must go out to the boundary (Hil).
