Masjid Ja'ranah is located 25km from Makkah. It is a Meeqat point for residents of Makkah.
History
- After the Battle of Hunayn, the Prophet (PBUH) camped here to distribute the massive spoils of war.
- He donned his Ihram from this spot for a "Umrah of gratitude".
Visiting
- It is a beautiful, peaceful mosque.
- Many locals prefer starting their Umrah here (instead of Taneem) because it follows the specific footpath of the Prophet's gratitude Umrah.
- Facilities: Large shower and changing areas available.
