Umrah with kids is rewarding but exhausting.
The Stroller Rule
- Mataf (Kaaba Floor): Strollers are generally BANNED on the ground floor Mataf entirely.
- Upper Floors: Strollers are allowed on the upper floors of Tawaf and Sa'i.
- Masjid Nabawi: Strollers are usually not allowed inside the carpeted prayer halls. You must leave them outside in the courtyard (unsupervised).
Practical Tips
- Baby Carrier: Bring a strap-on carrier (Baby Bjorn style). It is a lifesaver for Tawaf on the ground floor.
- Diapers: Available at Bin Dawood. Brands like Pampers/Huggies are common.
- Milk: Fresh milk and formula are widely available.
- The Crowd: Do not take small kids into the crush near the Black Stone. It is dangerous. Stay on the outer perimeter.
- Wristband: Tag your child!
Distractions
- Bring silent toys. Tablets with headphones are okay in corners, but respect the sanctity of the mosque.
