Praying in Masjid Al-Nabawi carries the reward of 1,000 prayers (except for Masjid al-Haram). Therefore, knowing the schedule is vital.

Typical Daily Schedule (Subject to change)

  • Tahajjud: 1 hour before Fajr (Mosque is busiest).
  • Fajr: Adhan is approx. 5:00 - 5:30 AM.
  • Dhuhr: Adhan is approx. 12:15 - 12:30 PM.
  • Asr: Adhan is approx. 3:30 - 3:45 PM.
  • Maghrib: Immediately after sunset.
  • Isha: Approx. 1.5 hours after Maghrib.

Tips for Getting a Spot

  1. Inside the Mosque: For Fard prayers, arrive at least 45-60 minutes early, especially for Maghrib and Isha.
  2. Jummah (Friday): You MUST arrive by 10:00 AM (2 hours before Adhan) to get a spot inside the main hall. If you arrive at 11:30 AM, you will likely be in the courtyard under the sun.
  3. Ladies Section: Gate 25, 29, and the northern expansion are popular entry points for women.

The Rawdah (Riaz-ul-Jannah)

  • Entry: Strictly by appointment via Nusuk App.
  • Men: Usually open overnight and morning.
  • Women: Usually open in morning (post-Fajr) and late night.
  • Note: Check the app for latest slots; they open continuously.

Key Takeaways

  • Don't trust Google blindly. Arrive early.
  • Gate numbers matter. Know which gate is closest to your hotel to avoid long walks after prayer.
  • Shoe Bags: Always carry a shoe bag. Do not leave shoes outside; they will be removed by cleaners.
