- Ajwa: The "Holy Date". Black, soft, not too sweet. The Prophet (PBUH) mentioned eating 7 Ajwa dates protects from poison/magic.
- Price: 40 - 80 SAR/kg (depends on size/grade).
- Sukari: "Sugary". Light brown, extremely soft and sweet. Often eaten with coffee.
- Price: 15 - 30 SAR/kg.
- Mabroom: Long, slender, chewy like toffee.
- Price: 25 - 45 SAR/kg.
- Safawi: Dark black/brown, similar to Ajwa but larger and cheaper. Great for daily eating.
- Price: 20 - 35 SAR/kg.

- Souq Al Tumour (Central Dates Market): A huge market with hundreds of sellers. Best prices. Located near Quba Mosque area.
- Dates Shops (North Side of Haram): Good quality, slightly higher prices for convenience.
- Date Farms (Quba): Visit a farm for the fresh experience (prices can be higher due to tourism).
Buying Tips
- Open the date: Check inside for "dust" (bugs). Fresh dates are clean.
- Haggle: Buying 10kg? You can drop the price significantly.
