Getting separated in a crowd of 2 million people is terrifying. Mobile signals often fail inside.
1. Establish a Meeting Point (BEFORE you enter)
Bad: "Meet at the gate" (Which one? Inside or out? It's crowded). Good: "Meet at the specific gold pillar inside the Clock Tower Mall entrance" or "Meet at the Bin Dawood Pharmacy sign."
2. The "Clock Tower Compass"
If lost outside, look up. The Clock Tower is visible from everywhere. Use it to orient yourself (The Clock Tower is South/East side).
3. For Children
- Wristband: Write your hotel name and phone number on a wristband (or pieces of tape on their back).
- Photo: Take a photo of your child/elderly parent that morning so you know exactly what they are wearing.
- Lost & Found: There is a center near Al-Marwa. Police are very helpful with lost kids.
