Located in the Umm Al-Jood district, this factory produces the most expensive cloth in the world (Cost: ~20 Million SAR).

The Tour

  • What you see: Artisans manually embroidering real gold and silver threads onto black silk.
  • The Robot: They now use massive machines for the black base cloth, but the calligraphy is still done by hand.
  • Participation: VIP guests are sometimes allowed to stitch a thread. General public usually views from a glass corridor.

Access

  • You generally need to book a visit via Nusuk or have a group permit. It is not always open for walk-ins. Check with your Umrah group leader.
