- Elevation: ~640 meters.
- Path: Paved stone steps (mostly). Steep and uneven.
- Duration:
- Fit Person: 40-50 Minutes.
- Average: 60-90 Minutes.
- Elderly: Not recommended.
Best Time to Climb
1. Post-Midnight / Pre-Fajr (Best):
- Coolest temperature.
- You can pray Fajr at the top.
- Sunrise view is spectacular.
2. Late Afternoon:
- Watch the sunset.
- Descent requires a flashlight (or phone).
Is it Dangerous?
- Physical Safety: Moderate. The steps can be slippery (worn smooth). Rails exist in some parts.
- Crowds: The cave itself is tiny (fits 2 people). Getting inside can be chaotic due to pushing. Be patient.
- Monkeys: Yes, there are baboons. Do not feed them or show food.
What to Bring?
- Water: 1-2 Liters per person.
- Grip Shoes: Sneakers/Trainers. No sandals.
- Cash: Small stalls on the way sell water/tea (expensive).
