Located in the Anbariya District (near the new train station), this is a beautifully restored piece of history.
The History
- Built by the Ottoman Empire in 1908 to carry pilgrims from Damascus/Istanbul to Madinah.
- Destroyed during WWI (Lawrence of Arabia).
The Museum
- The Station: The main building is a stunning example of Ottoman architecture.
- The Trains: You can walk up to the black steam locomotives sitting on the tracks.
- Entry: Often free, but opening times vary (usually evenings).
