The Garden of Salman Al-Farsi tells one of the most touching stories of brotherhood and miracle.
The Ransom
Salman (RA) was a slave. His master demanded an impossible ransom for his freedom:
- 300 Date Palms to be planted and reach fruit-bearing stage.
- 40 Ounces of Gold.
The Miracle
The Prophet (PBUH) told Salman to dig the holes. The Prophet (PBUH) then planted each shoot with his own blessed hands (except one, planted by Umar).
- Result: The trees grew miraculously fast and bore fruit within a year (normally takes 5-10 years).
- The One Tree: The only tree that died was the one not planted by the Prophet (PBUH). He replanted it, and it thrived.
Visiting Today
The garden is located near Masjid Quba. It still produces dates (Ajwa and others). Within it is a well associated with the Prophet (PBUH). Visitors can buy dates from this blessed soil.
