Tawaf al-Wada is the "Goodbye" to the House of Allah.

For Hajj

  • Ruling: It is WAJIB (Compulsory). If you miss it, you owe a penalty (Dam).
  • Timing: It must be the very last thing you do in Makkah. You cannot go shopping or sleep after it. You load your luggage, do Tawaf, and leave the city.

For Umrah

  • Ruling: Scholars differ.
    • Majority: It is Mustahabb (Recommended) but NOT Wajib. You can skip it.
    • Best Practice: If you have time, do it. It is respectful.

Women on Period

  • Ruling: They are EXEMPT from Farewell Tawaf. They do not need to do it and do not owe any penalty. They can just stand at the gate and make Dua before leaving.
