Entering Ihram is easy; staying in it is hard.
Common Mistakes
- Scented Soap/Wipes: Using "Dove" or "Lux" before Jumuah/Ihram is fine, but AFTER Niyyah, you must use Unscented Soap. No wet wipes with perfume!
- Covering the Head (Men): Putting a blanket over your face/head while sleeping in Mina.
- Rule: Face and Head must remain uncovered for men.
- Wearing Underwear (Men): It happens. You forget.
- Knotting the Towel: You should use a belt. Do not tie knots in the Ihram cloth itself (though scholars differ, it is safer to avoid).
- Thinking "Stitched" means "Sewn":
- Rule: "Stitched" means "Form Fitted" (like a shirt/pants). A patch sewn onto your Ihram or sandals/belt with stitching is Allowed.
The Fix (Fidiya)
If you do these by accident: Istighfar (Repent). If you do them on purpose or due to necessity: You may need to feed 6 poor people (Fidiya).
