Hegra (Madain Saleh) is the southern capital of the Nabataean civilization (the same people who built Petra in Jordan).
The Experience
- The Tombs: Over 110 monumental tombs carved into giant sandstone rocks.
- Qasr al-Farid: The "Lonely Castle". The most famous, unfinished tomb standing alone in the desert.

Visiting Rules
- Respect: It is a gravesite. Do not dance or play loud music.
- Tickets: Book weeks in advance. It sells out.
